A little backstory.

I didn't study this stuff in college. But I did go. I earned a B.A. in Political Science, then never really did anything political with it. Instead, I got hired on as a Customer Service Rep for a dot-com, and HTML and CSS was just a hobby. Then my boss discovered I could do that stuff, even a little.

And a career was born.

I spent a long time in the email marketing world, designing and maintaining email campaigns. I didn't like it, and don't plan to do it again, but the experience was a good one for me. The inconveniences of the major web browsers pale in comparison to the headaches that developing for every major—and some minor—email clients can produce. It also gave me a very healthy respect for the user experience, including accessibility and privacy.

Time has passed since then. I'm employed full-time as a developer (on the web, this time), but still like to take on challenges in my "off" time. If you want to talk, hit me at steve at grizzlydojo dot com, or use the contact form.

If you want more detail, I have a profile on LinkedIn.

this is picture of a bear. he's sitting down, and looking relatively cute for something that could totally rip your head off.
